Cut rowcount from one file to another
Hi guys!

I need to cut first row from a file (using awk) without the record separator character (in my case its MS-DOS 0D0A) and field separator character (in my case ; 3B) and put it in another file.

Can you help with that?

To make sure, post an example. To make the record separator in the input file visible for us here in the forum you can use for example:

head -3 infile | od -cx

Of course. First 3 rows are enough, use head -3.

Hehe, I don't want a file attachment. Use copy and paste from your box where you do the head -3 and paste it in here.
But please, please use CODE-tags when doing this. Easiest is to click the # up there in the editor bar when writing the post. It is for better readability and to keep formatting etc., ty.

Oh Smilie But heh..Im performing scripts on Oracle Data Integrator by tool called OSCommand. I dont have access to shell...thats why I gave you a file Smilie
