here document `EOF' unclosed
I am trying to assign the value in variable using below command.

Code:
exp_stat=`sqlplus -silent USER_NAME/PWD <<EOF
        set pagesize 0 feedback off verify off heading off echo off
        select count(*) from TABLE_NAME;
        exit;
        EOF`

But getting the below error.

here document `EOF' unclosed

Any idea......

Remove the spaces before the last delimiting identifier EOF.

The last line must have no leading spaces whatsoever.
