Grep in subdir, multiple files

Hi,
I m trying to have script to grep a pattern in all files under a directory. I use Sun Solaris, the below want doesnt do exactly what I want.

find /home/xxx/ tagHeu | while read FILE; do
grep text $FILE && echo 1
grep text $FILE || echo 0
done

I also tried running:
find /home/xxx/ -exec grep -c "tagHeu" {} /dev/null \;

but this one lists all the files under that directory and puts a 0 or 1 beside the name of the file if that file has the pattern in it.

I only want to get the list of the files which has that pattern.

In Sun I dont have grep -H or ggrep

How can I list the files which has the pattern I am looking for.

Thanks.

Are you trying to find the files within one directory that have the string 'tagHeu' or are you wanting to do a recursive search of any files below the directory?

If you want a recursive search and your grep does not support the recursive option (-R|-r), then you can use a find like this. The standard Sun versions don't support recursion, but if you have the GNU version installed it does.

find /directory -type f -exec grep -l 'tagHeu' {} \;

The -l (lowercase L) will print just the names of files that match. The -H (or --with-filename) is the default action for grep and should be supported.
