nawk -f sumUp.awk myFile

sumUp.awk:
Code:
NF == 6 { sum+=$NF; rec=(rec)?rec ORS $0 :$0; next}
{ if (rec) print sumLine OFS sum ORS rec; sum=0; rec=""; sumLine=$0}
END {
  if (rec)
    print sumLine OFS sum ORS rec
}

And one more thing i want to print only the new lines in which the sum is stored. How to print it.
Code:
# if the number of fields is 6
NF == 6 {
   # add to running tally of sum the value of the last (NF) field
   sum+=$NF
   # concatenate the current line to the running record of the previously encountered lines of 6 fields
   rec=(rec)?rec ORS $0 :$0
   # go to the NEXT line
   next
}
{
   # if the running record (rec) is NOT empty
   if (rec) {
   # print the 'summary line' (the line with 5 fields) followed by the sum
   # (sum) and followed by ORS (new line by default)
     print sumLine OFS sum ORS

    # reset the sum to 0 and rec to empty string
     sum=0; rec=""
    # assign the current line ($0) to a variable sumLine
     sumLine=$0
   }
}
END {

# take of the trailing record - same logic as before
  if (rec)
    print sumLine OFS sum ORS
}

vgersh99's

I have one small doubt is it possible to print output's to newfile,

print sumLine OFS sum ORS

when we print the sum and rest of fields can we move to newfile instead of putting it in the same file.

Need your assistance on this,

thanks in advance.
