"sed" command Problem

Hi Guyz,

i am using sed command in my ksh script.
It is eliminating last record from my flat file, thus i am recieving 1 less record in the new file.

e.g.
MyFile = File1 contains 24 records.
after executing this command :- sed 's/a/b/g' $MyFile > New_File
mv New_File $MyFile

But, i receive only 23 records in the modified File1, although all the 24 records contain 'a'.
What could be the reson Smilie ????

Thnx in advance.

Try to append a "\n" to the last line and try once.

since while creating a file using "cat" command , this problem use to happen.
