Apache:-Logout Feature

I have a webpage uploaded on apache, secured using .htaccess. Can i include a log out feature by any means which logs out the current user and ask for login crdentials again?

When you say "secured by .htaccess", you mean "Authentication-Basic" or "Authentication-Digest". The answer is, sadly, no. It's a fundamental weakness in the HTTP protocol.

In theory, you could identify the browser session via the browser's cookie, and if it has expired, redirect the user away from the realm to another login page. But then you might as well give www-authenticate the boot, and just rely on cookies and a login page.
