convert a file from lines to columns in perl
Hi all,
I want to convert a file from lines to columns in perl
for example "abcd" convertd to
a
b
c
d


pleas help me Smilie

A rather trivial task, what have you tried? Is this homework?

this is a small section from my programe.
I have tried to split the string and store it in an array, but I am still stock.
is there any way to do that in Perl? or I have to think of another idea
