how to add a line to the file

Hi
I need to update a multiple files containing the following unique line:
"echo No /t2/bin/tsdbdwn2 is here, skipping"

The problem is that this line is a part of the "if" statement and the update needs to be entered right after the "fi" which follow immediatly after the inique line.

I cannot use "fi" as a reference since there are multiple "if"s in the file.
I would appreciate any help or advice... Thanks -A

Question Can you provide more/better example?

Please show
(a) current section of text
(b) desired end-result of command operation

That greatly assists in the formulation of potential solutions.

Here is an extract of the file to be updated:
mktemp tsupdmon
send tsupdmon exit
tssrmon dbdwn
if [ -f /t2/bin/tsdbdwn2 ]
then
tsdbdwn2 y
else
echo No /t2/bin/tsdbdwn2 is here, skipping
fi
/ts/bin/stop_tsdrsvc
.........

The desired line should be adde right after the "fi"....
