Frdz, i have scenorio like i have to open ftp connection in a for loop and connect to the other server and upload the file again and again till the for loop ends but i am getting problem when i use the following code.

for i in `ls ${SOURCE_DIR}/`
do
FOLDER_NAME=`basename $i`
for j in `ls ${SOURCE_DIR}/${FOLDER_NAME}`
do
SUB_FOLDER=`basename $j`
export CMDDIR=${SOURCE_DIR}/${FOLDER_NAME}/${SUB_FOLDER}
CD="cd ${DIR}/${FOLDER_NAME}/${SUB_FOLDER}"

ftp -inv $REMOTE_IP > $TEMPFILE1 2> TEMPFILE1 << EOF
user $REMOTE_USER $REMOTE_PWD
binary
prompt
passive
${CD}
put testfile1234
prompt
close
bye
end
done
done


The error is syntax error: unexpected end of file

replace end with EOF

Its not working ..still am getting the same error..

run script with sh -x scriptname you will come to know where exactly the error is

The error is at the last line of the script.
If i remove the ftp related code out of the for loop and run the remaining it is working good. when ever i place the ftp code in side the for loop it is showing error at the end of the script.
