Multiple lines into one line

Hi all

I have a file with these lines

good
gone
home

What code do you need to put this on one line like this

good gone home
# 2  
Old 04-21-2009
look into 'man tr'
# 3  
Old 04-21-2009
alternatively

awk 'BEGIN{RS=" ";FS="\n"}{for (i=1;i<=NF;i++)printf("%s ", $i)}' filename
