Shell Programming and Scripting

I must admit I am relativly new to sed, and I am trying to make a simple sed query to search log files and return multiple variables from multiple logs. So far I have had success, but one problem remains:

Alot of lines in the log files wrap onto multiple lines and are not being returned as expected, and so a simple sed query does not return the appropriate info. An example from my files looks like this:

2008-04-15 ....... info here. <browser info> )}
2008-04-15 ....... info here.

More info here ..... <browser info> )}
2008-04-15 ....... info here. <browser info> )}
2008-04-15 ....... info here. <browser info> )}

(Using win32 version of sed and have search variables set by a batch script)
My current script is :

sed "/%var%/!d; /%var2%/!d" Logs/* > Results.txt

How can I update this to either:
a) Show all lines that do not start with yyyy- in conjunction with my custom variables above
b) Show all lines that do not end with )} in conjunction with my custom variables above

To get lines that do not start with a date you can use something like this:

For lines that do not end with )}:

sed "/}$/d"
