Can some one suggest a good book for C shell programming.

Smilie I'm surprised Perderabo didnt' link you to this since you used csh and programming in the same sentence.


Anyway, if you insist, I've found that any of the O'Reilly books are worth it. Try the csh and tcsh book. I've never read this one but have other O'Reilly books. And I've gotten away from csh and use ksh and perl more and more.

Even though I am just a humble shell programming student that is not allowed to ask questions, I can tell you about the newest book that is out. It is: UNIX Shells by Example. Author Ellie Quigley. ISBN 0-13-066538-x.

It covers most of the shells. There is a section on the C shell of about 100 pages that is quite intense and filled with many examples.

There is also a CD that comes with it that is somewhat useful.
