Shell Programming and Scripting

I have two spreadsheet files (A, B). Each has many rows with IDs. First, I want to find out the contents in both files with common IDs. Second, I want find the contents which only exist in A not B.

Comparing two files..

1) comparing two file...
letsay if have two csv file..then..
below command may help you..

awk -F"," 'FNR==NR {a[$1]++; next} a[$1]' file1 file2

awk: can't open file FNR==NR {a[$1]++; next} a[$1]

Hi,

awk -F"," 'FNR==NR {a[$1]++; next} a[$1]' file1 file2

in above command..

1) make sure you are having csv files..
2) also make sure the file names that you want compare ..you have given in the command like file1 file2..

your error looks like you have not used the proper filesname....m not sure..
can you try again..or just copy the way that you tried..
so that hope i can help..you..because its working well for me..
