ok, try this - assuming you want to 'print' ONLY when first field is "running" AND the ninth field contains one of the value on a 'list':

  n=split("S73isid S750vxpal.gridnode S75vxpal.StorageAgent S75vxsmfd S760vxpal.actionagent", list)
  for(i=1; i<=n; i++) {
    list[list[i]]=i
    delete list[i]
  }
}
$1 == "running" &&  $9 in list { print $5, $0 }

# 9

I am so sorry I am not clear on what I need..

"running" will be on a line by its self, there will never be "running" and an S-whaever on the same line.
