yes it is.... you have to put your ip configuration into the config files!

/etc/hosts
/etc/hostname.interfacename

i don't know where you take your ip from... maybe from the same range your pc is in?

look closer! le0 not lo0!

do a:

ifconfig le0 plumb
ifconfig le0 yourip .... up
ifconfig -a

do a "init 0" and from the ok prompt a "boot -ar". after that, there should be a valid /etc/path_to_inst!

lo0 is the loopback interface. this is NO physical interface!

do a "grep net /etc/path_to_inst"

you should find (i hope so) a "hme" interface or something similar. test it with:

# ifconfig...

also the output of:

- printenv
- devalias

should be usefull ;)

"tip" only works on solaris boxes. it's a terminal software... you need hyperterm or teraterm for your pc (windows?).

use a terminal software like teraterm and use the settings 9600 baud, no parity, 8 bits and 1 stop bit.
