i know if you use ssh username@ip.addr it will prompt for the password and bypass the username. I would like to know how to bypass the password as well:)

would you need a special tool to look at data files that me be in use by the kernal. I guess you could cat filename.dat >filenametext.dat that way and give it a try.

list attribute list (ls -al) should give you the permissions on the folder your attempting to change ownership :)

It sounds like your attemping to ssh a device on a seperate vlan so traceroute and ping works but you are unable to ssh.

you need to mount the cifs file system and export the share. what type of NAS are you using. :)

check /var for *.dump and delete
you can also delete vmcore files if AIX

usually you would set a quota limit for CIFS/NFS in your gui when setting up.
a server export for a speciffic users file system.
