Iam working on migration of perl applicaion from MPE/ix OS to UNIX. Perl Application uses MPE::File Package which cannot be used in HPUX.

I have identified IO::File and Filehandle package...

here goes the solution,

read -r <line> will not take the backslash character in account.

When i read the file and print the ouput using echo, "\" is not coming. How to avoid it.
