Run Queue Thresholds
Gurus,
Having a GS1280 box with OSF1 v5.1 installed (16 processors), the run queue value from the vmstat command reports a very high value (about 25 to 30). Does this reflect a CPU bound system....

On a SUN Fire 150 k with Solaris 8 installed, the (wio ratio) suddenly stepped to reach 90s % of the CPU utilization.

Tracking the changes on the box, we got that only the kernel parameter...

Thanks for your meaty reply.

However i need to conclude, does the Scan Rate ONLY is an adequate indicator for the Physical Memory utilization ?

Thanks for all those replied,
The case had been resolved by setting the (UseLogin) parameter in (/etc/sshd_config) to yes, then Re-Editing the Cron by (cron -e).

Memory Utilization
All,
The (fre) coloumn of the (vmstat) command, does it report the size of the free list including the swap space or it only report on the RAM (physical memory).

Scan Rates
Dear Gurus,
Can any one advice about the normal limits for the Page scanning rates on the AIX platforms, i am having enormous values for the scan rate along the hour it may reache 3000 pages/sec....
