To disable an account put an * in front of the account line in /etc/passwd.
To enable it again remove the * in front of the line.

depmod -a returned ok(no news) the module is on,
as also appears at the modprob.conf
but again eth1 refuses to be connected :p

About that, are u trying to startx or startkde on your freebsd 6.2 and u get an error msg ?
If u do, i kinda run into it my self, i can not give u the error msg cause i don't remember it,...

thx reborg that worked ! i started the pc from a mandrakemove cd and from there i mounted the root partition on a dir and i repaired the file ! ;)

i accidentaly made the root entry inactive at the /etc/passwd file (by adding an * at the start of it)
and now i can''t have a root privill..
is there something to be done for this situation to...
