Perhaps after install you have two active partitions or have not it at all. You must reboot with windows boot floopy and then use fdisk set one active partition (I recommend unix partition). Reboot...

In my SCO Unixware system I have command like last. Try something like
last | grep <your_name>| awk ' {print $3}'

I'm not sure absolutly, but if you have working system look in /var/adm/ISL/iqm_file (SCO OpenServer 5.02), for SCO Unixware 7 in /var/adm/isl/ifile

I think you need install patches.
Go to : SCO UW711 patches (http://www.caldera.com/support/ftplists/uw7list.html)
And I recommend you install all of them except your hardware not needed

Try this

useradd -m -g group -G group1 user

May be try set UID bit for your script and change owner for it to needed user?
