Is there an easy to see which /dev/tty a printer is on on SCO Unix 3.2.4.2?

I had myself screwed up. Its not the backspace that puts in special characters.
Its when you arrow left.
# cat /esc/hosts
Like if I arrow over to replace the s with a t

Monitor and keyboard at the SCO machine. Putty on Windows 10 connecting over the network. QVTterm on a Windows 2000 VB image.
All 3 have the same results.

SCO UNIX 3.2.4.2 does everything in command prompt(/bin/sh). No desktop.

I got to thinking that that was going to be the answer but I am not used to using sh. I'm more tuned to how bash works.


I was wondering if there was a way to clear a wrongly entered character....

is there a way to overwrite what I have typed in rather than having to hit enter and re enter the command?

Thank you for that tip. I was using the wrong IRQ. On SCO 3.2.4.2 with that DLink card, I have to tell it which IRQ to use. There are a few that weren't in use, but I wasn't selecting the correct...

Just transfer all files on the same connection. use

Does 192.168.1.x need to be the last ip in the scheme or does it need to stay as 192.168.1.x?

I had a router change and needed to change the ip in some machines.
I have two machines on SCO Unix 3.2.4.2
I changed the IP in my chain(relinked kernel, used as default) and in /etc/hosts on both....

<servername> # echo $TERM
ansi
<servername> #

I have pcs running Windows XP and QvtTerm, which works fine, but I need to upgrade away from those pcs and QvtTerm won't run on Win 7 nor 10.

Is there anyway to the function keys to work on PuTTY when remoting into a SCO 3.2 server?
