A better way to learn unix would be installing a unix based System on a virtual machine or on your pc. But i think for you starting with a linux vm with virtualbox should be a good idea.

Well its not like i haven't any programming expirence. I learned already a bit of Python / ruby and started learning Java for school and private fun.
But o know i would take years to Master assembly...
