In my query, i want count of files

ls | wc -l *preifx*

Your command ls prefix* | wc -l is not working it's throwing me error saying 'prefix* not found'.

Note : Here, Prefix is the Prefix name of the file.

The command i Mentioned was used by me...

I tried with ls | wc -l *prefix*

But its giving me list of files with thier respective name..I just want the number(quantity) of files, as the files are more than 100
