These are the text file I have

//input1.txt//
cd dir1/dir2/pg1.txt
cd dir3/dir4/pg2.txt
cd dir88/dir5/pg4.txt
cd dir7/dir6/pg5.txt
cd dir8/dir9/pg7.txt

And each text file has some...

Suppose if this text "axyz.bnd" matches then i need to insert a new line with some string value

The file which is used is
/abc/apps/cobbbbbb/apps/abadv/binder/axyz.bnd
/abc/apps/cobbbbbb/apps/abbrio/binder/na6115.bnd
/abc/apps/cobbbbbb/apps/abbrio/binder/kc22.bnd...

The file which is used is
/abc/apps/cobbbbbb/apps/abadv/binder/axyz.bnd
/abc/apps/cobbbbbb/apps/abbrio/binder/na6115.bnd
/abc/apps/cobbbbbb/apps/abbrio/binder/kc22.bnd...

it is still not working:(:(:(

sed '/patternstring/ a\ new line string' file1

The above code is not working even with the i option....
it shows sed grambled if '\' after new line string is not being used....after using no...
