I actually dont know whether it requires any other runtime libraries. When we tried to compile this it required C, Gcc libraries.

I have compiled FreeTDS on AIX 5.3. Its my dev environment so I have c compilers on the box so I was able to compile. From the test environment onwards I will not be able to have c compilers....
