Hi methyl and Coronna688, the problem is solved now. After hard rebooting the machine the issue is resolved. Entry is also created . Thanks a lot for your timely replies which made me comfortable

In the meantime means after I executed the arp -d HOSTNAME command and before the connection was lost ?

If yes , I was accessing the server for less than 3 minutes.
