Metastat does not return any message pointing disk need any maintenance process..but...

can you do : #ls -ld ABC it will show...
can you do :

#ls -ld ABC

it will show you the ownership of ABC itself...

Also you can try to relogin as superuser "root" and retry to remove the files ...

can you do ls -alrt ABC ? there might be a file...
can you do ls -alrt ABC ? there might be a file or directory under ABC directory who is owned by another user or group thats why recursive remove process may fail..
