if you want to see the process or processes using this port run the following:

lsof -i:9080

yes, both disks are mirrored, metareplace was invoked and problematic disk was resycned from its sub mirror..

Metastat does not return any message pointing disk need any maintenance process..but...

can you do :

#ls -ld ABC

it will show you the ownership of ABC itself...

Also you can try to relogin as superuser "root" and retry to remove the files ...

yeah exactly they are both on c1 scsi controller.. i wonder if this was a temporary problem on disk cause the alarm was from 12th Jan.. no alarm seen after then..have any idea?

can you do ls -alrt ABC ? there might be a file or directory under ABC directory who is owned by another user or group thats why recursive remove process may fail..

you can use cat to list all the users in /etc/passwd file..

#cat /etc/passwd

or there is a simple commnd to view local users:

#logins

Simply you can see the default shell of the user which you logged in :


#echo $SHELL


but if you want to see the current shell :

#echo $0

i will do that but when i check the SMF services i see that there are 2 instances related to ntp:


svcs -a | grep -i ntp
legacy_run 19:32:32 lrc:/etc/rc2_d/S74ntpsync
legacy_run ...

ntpd demon is not running on the client.. i checked it with "ps -ef "
