How do I configure site-local IPv6 address in HP-UX box?
I can get link local IPv6 address automatically when I put IPv6 up.

Thanks the issue is fixed now. Problem was with the X11 forwarding settings in sshd_config file.. :)

Firewall is disabled, and I can telnet to the port. sshd is running too.
Seems any authentication problem. PAM or someting

actually theres a user "abc123". Its not listed in /etc/passwd. so i wanted to know it gets authenticated to login to this machine.

yes, it was an NIS user.
and the IP settings of the server was changed.
So the keys got messy.
I disabled the PubkeyAuthentication option in /etc/ssh/sshd_config
Now I can login, but i need to...

How do I confirm if a user logged in, is remote or local? In the case if the user is remote, how to be sure what authentication/method is it using, like LDAP, NIS or other?

No, IPv6 may be configured, but I am using a IPv4 address to ssh.:wall:

I have completely removed the .ssh directory. still i cant login.
I checked the /var/log/secure file. The last lines are:

I have a Rhel 3 machine.
I can login to it through telnet.

The config files /etc/ssh/sshd_config and /etc/ssh/ssh_config has not been modified.
But the IP address of the system was changed....
