I always thought that the root group had close to the same privileges as the root account itself. If one have to assign the group root to files to have access to them the group is pretty useless....

Can anybody tell me if there is a security issue with root using/pointing to /usr, like for example /usr/bin/ksh? Why not point to /bin/ksh instead?
Any risk involved doing that?
