yeah i guess i have misunderstood some concept.

A network switch can be controlled from a web-browser through web-management interface. So a network switch should support http for that purpose.

I understood the thing...so SSL/TLS generates a common key and encrypts with the public key of the web server and sends to the web server..which then decrypts with its own private...
