I Solved my problem!
I used the commands:

# id gandalf
uid=100(gandalf) gid=104
# usermod -u 100 -o hobbit


With the same ID of Gandalf, the hobbit can write to the folder...

Rebooting does not solve the problem, and even though I clean the files 'lock' (see commands below) the problem resurfaces.
