It works only if the line starts from PDE..But there are few lines which start from differetn charcters
for example:
a.dat:


PDE 2010 5 9 5 59 42.00 3.7800 96.0500 45.0 7.2 7.2...

How to execute this awk command.

Hii , I have a huge set of data stored in file a.dat as shown below

Date: 1976/ 8/12 Centroid Time: 23:26:51.8 GMT
Lat= 26.55 Lon= 97.12
Depth= 15.0 Half...

These coordinates are all decimals not minutes.
I am very new to perl.Please explain me the perl code &
How do i compile & execute perl program.

Then the result s same ...
its not printing the result in c.dat correctly as

I tried to do like this already..It deletes my other data..
