got it, I use Break;; and it returns to main menu, thanks for the help anyways!

I'm calling the sub menu as a function so when i use exec it doesn't work.

I can open the sub menu, the problem is exiting back to the main menu, when i exit the sub menu it just closes the script.

I basically have a menu driven script in which one of the options from the main menu would open a sub menu, this works fine but i can't seem to be able to exit the sub menu back to the main...

I can't find anything wrong with this line of code, it works when there is one file in the directory but more than one i get a "too many arguements2 error

when the file is not found i want it to return to the menu, however it carries out the next line when i hit a key

I got as far as this but when i tried to prompt for a directory it shuts back down to the menu, as i say i'm very new to this...almost ashamed to post such pathetic code.
