Zaxxon/Corona688, When I log in as root and change the ulimit, it remains as I have changed. But the next day it changes back to the wrong Ulimit.

I am using Sco Open Server 5. Unfortunately I don't remember exactly how I changed the ulimit. But I guess I must have used the standard syntax. Zaxxon What do you mean by "did you relog?"

I changed the standard Ulimit sometime back. But when I change it back, the setting does not get updated.
How do I make the change permanent

I guess the earlier problem I had with changing user passwords and creating new users is related to the shadow file. Anytime I change something to /etc/passwd or shadow I get locked out.

I cannot access the Accounts Manager facility when using SCO (F2 Screen) or scoadmin from the Command prompt. when using System Administration screen the Error "Unable to get initial list of users"...

I am able to use id for the username.

I am trying to change a user's Password, but I get the error "Password Cannot be changed; see account Administrator". Yet I am logged in as root.
I also cannot access the Accounts Manager facility...
