I have a txt file i saved in windows with german umlauts

When listing the file in Solaris 10 I can't see the umlauts

I tried to export LANG to de, at and anything else in /usr/lib/locale...

that said i'm having the following issue now:

nawk: makes too many open files

However i'm getting the following error:
