ive gone for an ubuntu install in the meantime, which went very easy compared to solaris! didnt have to configure anything, it 'just worked'!

I notice my system hasnt got a /etc/named.conf file, which i think i need to continue, and idea why it may be missing, or do i have to create it myself?

hmmm , my /etc/resolv.conf didnt exist, so i created it and entered:

nameserver 80.58.0.33
nameserver 80.58.32.97

(which are both the correct DNS servers, primary and secondary)

and... I'll be needing to enter the DNS server addresses too, where do they go?

hi, yes, im nearly there, had to create the file (defaultrouter) with the echo command

now i also see the ip number of the machine in the network icon, but need to change the subnet to...

I have just installed Solaris for the very first time (Solaris 10), and am having difficulty...

i stand corrected once again (twice in one day!) i have found an extra 256mb and added it (totalling 512mb) and i have got past this issue... onwards we go with my first installation!!!

hi, no def x86 version, and i was told earlier 256mb would be OK, i do though, get the error saying not enough for graphics during the install... will try more memory!
