The T2000 has 2cpu's ( 8 core ) the v880 has 6 cpu's each with 2 cores so the cpu's makes the difference not the cores ?
Do you know of any tunable parameters to kernal etc to tune this T2000 ?

I have recently built a new server and patched Soalris 10 up tp latest bundle etc...
When I run a decompress using the format zcat fred.Z |tar -xvf - it runs at a very slow rate.
A similiar server...

I have Solaris 10 initial load from I think 2005 installed. We need to update to latest update on solaris 10 so have download the update 10 (0811).
I will be doing a install from single user...

Tried to compile new .mc file again and copied all lines from your idea.

still same error received, file not even processed as error in mailq & not mailx

sendmail now fails :

/etc/mail/sendmail.cf: line 826: invalid rewrite line "R* < [at] * .m. > * #esmtp [at] 2.m : 1 < [at] 2.m. > 3" (tab expected)

any ideas

I have a backup b4 i started to try different features in the .mc file.
I have put original settings back but still leaves me in the same position of sending mail out with incorrect domain:
...

My mail isbeing sent via server in format of :
username@host.domain and from this fails as the domain does not exist.

In solaris 9 we used DMdomain which cured the problem.

this does not work...

If you mean did I stop and start the sendmail daemon then yes.

This action made no difference to the sender address.
Any other ideas ?

when mailing from server sender address showing in this format:
username@hostname.oops.co.uk

What changes are required to remove the hostname from the senders address.
