I've got txt-file containing lots of data in sentences like this:

;;BA;00:00:03:00;COM;CLOQUET-LAFOLLYE;SIMON;

but sometime more than on in a line like this:
...

I have a very similar problem, so I post my question in thsi thread...

I would like to replace two characters ("CR" and ";") by a star symbol "*".

Thank for the idea, but I already use

"whenever sqlerror exit 1" and
"whenever oserror exit 2"

so this can't eb the problem. Looks like sqlplus ignors my commands...
