Why does my webserver stop everytime I exit my session?
Hi,

We have a webserver which runs on our unix server, we had to stop it for some work to be carried out, and restarted it earlier this week.

I'm logging in as myself and then root and starting...

How do I get basic server specs from terminal?
Hi there.

Anyone know how to get CPU speed, RAM size etc (basic specs) from a SUN server running solaris, from the unix terminal?

I'm sure there must be a command for this but ... I haven't...

after using ps -ef I found it was /usr/sbin/quota which was causing the time delay.

removed it from /etc/profile and it went in straight away.

No, tried that took as long as ever, response time did feel a little quicker.

But the original problem of it taking forever to boot up with my profile still exists.
