thnx.. i used cat and zcat to fix the issue.

% cat xaa xab xac ... > new_out_file.tar.Z
% zcat new_out_file.tar.Z | tar xvvf -

I am beginer to unix. i have backup in 7 floppies.(each having same file name 'xxx.tar.Z'). I need to restore all in one directory. Please help me.!!!
