I got it fixed, and figured to post here in case anybody runs into this. It was an older unix box with an older video card, replaced with new (GeForce MX4000 PCI) and it works fine now.

Thanks. I figured "Dummies" was a good place for it. :) But I am stuck...

Hopefully somebody out there can tell me what an idiot I am, and also how to fix this.
