Should I change it? Should the menumngr be set to execute?

So the way that I see it, owner1 should execute a shell called menumngr

If I manually go to that directory and try to execute menumngr, I get:

menumngr: execute permission denied

There are the following under /etc

uv++ dir
STTY [ acctcom alias auths basename cat cd
chgrp chmod chown chroot cksum clear cm_help ...

I just realized that I was not going to the bottom of the file.

The few lines are actually:

owner1:,..nH:206:50:owners login:/mdbase/loc1:../menus/menumngr


owner2:,..nH:207:50:owners...

I copied my file (so I can backup).

How do I edit? I am dialed into the system, and I can get in and out of vi editor; however, my command to move the cursor to the left (the h key) doesn't work....

1. Can I backup my passwd file? How do I do that? I presume [copy passwd passwd.old]?

2. Will I damage anything by trying /bin/bash?

3. Should I see a directory called bash under bin? It is not...

I can access the passwd file. The last line reads like this:

How do I get back to the default shell for login? I'm very rusty with Unix.
