I am makeing an NFS on a secondary comp.

I have the required line in the /etc/exports file
I have started the NFS service

I try to mount the shared file on THIS computer:

mount...

yes all 3 whats the 3rd really for?

i do a search in vi for a word by:

/<word>

but then everytime i view or type that word from there out, it highlights it, how do i shut this "find" off?

ok, i thought it was something like that, like disc set or something

drings up another question whats distro?

i have the book Hacking Linux Exposed. Why is it that a lot of these commands dont work in my RH8 system? Do you need a special package? Or are they outdated?
