so now if i do that will it auto mount on startup or do i still have to do something else beofore it will do that?... what do i have to do to the fstab?

Well.... the directory im trying to mount it to is /mnt/hdb1 and the hard drive is just used for storage and it doesnt have an OS on it... i have win xp and RH8 on my main drive just partitioned in...
