I have Sco openserver 5.0. It had a 125. ip. I changed it to a 192. ip. was unable to ping the 192. I was told to change it in the
etc/tcp
etc/hosts

files which i did. still unable to ping....

my knowlege in unix is very limited

I have no idea how to route the ip..

ifconfig -p net0 192.168.1.2 netmask 255.255.255.0...

i tried using the route command which was given to me

route add net (network) (ipaddress) 1

how shoud i route the ip 192.168.1.2 with the command

I changed my Ip address in netconfig. from 125.127.1.1 submask 255.255.255.0 to Ip 192.168.1.2 same sub mask . I pinged the Ip 192.168.1.2 and this is whats listed:

ping: 192.168.1.2...

how do i change and ip in sco unix.
