Ok, here where i stand..... when i issued...
Ok, here where i stand.....
when i issued "dmesg | more" I saw the UNIX recognized HP Colorado tape drive as "ast0".

ast0: TAPE <HP COLORADO 5GB> at ata1-slave using PI04

I am using FreeBSD Unix version running on I386 PC box. My IDE tape device is made by HP (Colorado 5GB).

By the way, i am using FreeBsD Unix version. As i have tried both of your suggestions, still did not work. This is what i did.
