I have an issue with booting NTFS partitions with Grub.
I have two HHD
1st HDD with Red Hat 9.0 and Grub as bootloader
2nd HDD with 8 Win partitions all ntfs.
Yes, FTP commands are the same for any platform, so doesn't matter if you are using a Windows or a Unix FTP server.

Any Ultra machine it's quite good.
Solaris doesn't need that many hardware resources as Windows, I personally run Solaris 9 and Domino 6 on an Ultra...

It sounds as something based on user and groups.
Red Hat 9 it's quite easy to install, you don't really need a step by step guide.
Just insert the first CD in your CD rom drive and restart the machine, then follow the on-screen instruction.
