as for Mandriva, i think ubuntu/kubuntu is better. so, it's just my opinion

as I know, it's remote login. But nowadays usually used SSH for this purposes, imho. (it's very old, as i know...)

we use them if we want to connect to the remote computer. ;)

Many of you (i think) work as sys.admins in different small or large corporations and so on.
That's why i've got a question for you:
What requirements usually nominate to you, when...

maybe you just didn't include scsi-support in your kernel

I just once read in a book, and they said that admin can set the wrong uname so that the hacker (or any other, attacking admin's machine) couldn't do anything, 'cause he would thinks it's for example...

i think it's not the right unix way =) 'cuz you must recompile the kernel (it's not a problem, but for this case - i think -isn't the right way ;)

I heard that root can modify the uname -command, so it will show the wrong kernel version.
Is it true? can you tell more about this /give links ?
