Reading Data from Disk

I have a server with SCO Open Server 5 and I need to copy data files from the hard drive. Can this be completed with a Windows PC with the hard drive connected with a USB caddy? I have no other way to do this. Server not running.

TIA
Tim

No.
Your only hope is to install the drive in another system running SCO as a slave drive and add the drive as a second disk. This may require renaming the partitions using divvy.
When running divvy do not mark any of the partitions as new file systems.
You can duplicate the drive using Norton Ghost prior to installing the drive in the SCO system.

I assumed that your drive is IDE.
Another possibility.
You should be able to install the drive in just about any desktop PC as drive C,
You may have to try any of the three different cyl/hd/sector configurations in the CMOS to get it to work. Typically SCO uses the native disk configuration. If you install a NIC using the same driver as the original server you might be able to ftp the files to another machine.
Switching motherboards with SCO does not present the same kind of difficulties as it does with Windows operating systems.
