/data directory not mounting

Dear sir,
In my SCO unix system while running an isql because of the size of the files created the ./data directory become full and now I cannot boot the system in normal mode. I am botting the machine in single user mode but i cannot delete the files from /data directory cos it is not mounting. I have tried my best to mount it but error message is coming. (mount : possibly damaged files systems, mount failed: no space left on device [error 28])
and when i run fsck on single user mode after scanning ./root directory while it comes to /data directory
Phase 0 - Replay log message comes and halt the machine.

Please help me out - how to mount the /data and delete atleast some files and run the system.

Is the /data directory in the / directory or is it a separate mount point?

If you have the boot and root floppies you can boot with them and mount the / filesystem and then delete your files.

The mount command you use should be:

mount /dev/hd0root /mnt

change directories to the /mnt and you should be able to delete what you need to.
